Meet your host

Hello, I am Alba — and this is my quiet corner of the internet.

I have been knitting since I was nine, crocheting since I was a twenty-something trying to slow my mind, and designing patterns for seven lovely years. This blog is where I share what I have been making, what I am learning, and the small joys that live between the stitches.

All patterns tested by real knitters and crocheters.
Honest reviews, kind advice, zero rush.
A gentle, beginner-friendly place — always.

Where to begin

Your gentle crafting journey

Four soft steps — no matter if this is your very first skein or your five hundredth.

1

Pick your tools

A hook, a pair of needles, and yarn that makes you smile. That is truly all you need.

2

Learn the basics

Slip knots, garter stitch, single crochet — our free tutorials walk you through each one.

3

Choose a pattern

Start with a cotton washcloth. Graduate to a baby blanket. Dream of a shawl.

4

Make something loved

Gift it, wear it, display it. Tag us — we love cheering on every finished piece.

Kind words

From the makers in our circle

Alba’s Rosewater Scarf was my very first cable project — and thanks to her gentle notes, I did not frog it once. I cry happy tears every time I wear it.

This is the first crafting site that feels like a warm hug. The tutorials are patient, the photographs are dreamy, and I always leave wanting to cast on.

Questions I get asked with chamomile tea

I have never held a knitting needle. Where do I start?

Start with our free Beginner Path under Patterns — three tiny projects that teach you cast-on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off. Grab a pair of size 8 needles and a cheerful cotton yarn, and meet me there.

Are the patterns really free?

Every single one. A few longer designs come with an optional tip jar, but nothing is gated — this blog has always been a gift, and it will stay that way.

Can I sell things I make from your patterns?

Yes — small-scale selling of finished objects is welcome, with credit back to the designer. Please do not resell or republish the patterns themselves.

How often do you post?

A new pattern or tutorial every other Sunday morning. The newsletter goes out on the same rhythm — slow and steady, like a good row of ribbing.

A letter from my studio, every other Sunday.

New patterns, behind-the-scenes photos, a song from my work playlist, and the occasional tea recommendation.

No spam ever — just soft stitches, I promise.

“Knitting is a kind of meditation where the hands do the thinking. And the heart can finally rest.”
